The Peer Support Team exists to provide confidential, compassionate, and culturally competent support to department members experiencing professional or personal challenges.

The mission of the Peer Support Team is to foster wellness and resilience, reduce stigma surrounding mental and behavioral health, and ensure that no member of our department faces hardship alone.

Peer Support, supported by CCFR and IAFF Local 4562, are personnel of all ranks and job classifications. The concept of peer support builds on the well-established tradition of members helping members. Peers are trained to be effective listeners and to provide feedback, clarify issues, and assist co-workers in identifying options for solving a problem. The Peer Support Program was created to provide emotional, mental, and practical support for members of the fire and rescue department. The program exists to strengthen the overall wellness and resilience of personnel by offering a confidential, accessible, and culturally competent source of support.
